(Periodic Training)

From 10th September 2009 all new commercial LGV drivers will need to complete 35 hours of training before 9th September 2014 (that is Drivers who have a PCV or LGV licence)

Drivers with a PCV or LGV licence before 10/09/2008 have acquired rights to a Driver CPC untill September 2014.

The Driver CPC will be evidenced by issuing drivers with a Driver Qualification Card (DQC), similar to the driving licence and will be issued by the DVLA.

It will be mandatory for Drivers to carry evidence that they hold Driver CPC when they are driving professionally. Drivers with acquired rights will not be issued with a DQC until they have completed their first 5 years of periodic training. They will be able to show they have acquired rights by the date on their driving licence showing when they acquired their vocational driving licence.

There are no exams to pass; you have to do 35 hours total training, either all at once or 5 x 7 hour days prior to 9th September 2014 CPC renewal, 'DQC' (Driver Qualification Card) issued and lasts 5 years,

Course cost is £95 per candidate for group bookings please contact the office.

All instructors are trained and certified by RTITB.
